Yoka Hanayagi Dance Academy

Yoka Hanayagi, based in Osaka, Japan, is a dance teacher and choreographer who has been involved in Japanese dance for 60 years. Her dance group, the Kasen Kai, has 45 members and their dances combine traditional Japanese dance with modern elements.

The group has performed in Paris, New York, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. In Japan the group has also done background dances for stage performances of popular singers as well as folk dances for people with disabilities.

Seventeen members are here in Vancouver for the first time, for a show you won’t soon forget!
