Tokyo Chuo-Line

Tokyo Chuo-Line

The dynamic trio of Tokyo Chuo-Line is named after the central rail line running through Tokyo city – a train that the three are intimately familiar with having grown up travelling to various bars, live houses and clubs in the area to play and perform. Following years of collaborating with Taiwanese-Hakka folk musician Sheng Xiang Lin and legendary jazz drummer Ryojirou Furusawa, the trio began to tour Taiwan on their own since 2014 while continuing to play with Sheng Xiang.

Fans of Sheng Xiang’s music are always in for a surprise as Tokyo Chuo-Line’s music is so different from when they perform on their own. With their own repertoire of original compositions paving the way for their jazz-influenced style to shine, the trio can feature exquisite guitar to adrenaline-pumped improv. Connected by years of performing together, the Okinawan trio play as one with taste, sensitivity, and energy!
